Day 2 – Cardio, DTP Chest and Back superset

Day 2 into the 12 day count down until my photoshoot

Last night didnt get much sleep – just cant stop thinking about D-Day lol Anyway….

Woke up at 5am this morning for my cardio session

Morning Cardio session

Low Intensity cross trainer

40mins @125-130bpm heart rate

Boring as hell, but whacked in the ipod and put it on my favourite album – Eminem – The Eminem Show

Evening Weights session

DTP Chest & Back superset

This was an absolute killer! Hardest session to get through to date, but loved every minute of it. Here is what i did…

DTP Incline Dumbbell Chest press (IDCP) superset with DTP Seated rows (SR)

IDCP – 50 reps @ 14kg
SR – 50 reps @ 40kg
– rest 45 seconds
IDCP – 40 reps @ 16kg
SR – 40 reps @ 50kg
– rest 1 minute
IDCP – 30 reps @ 18kg
SR – 30 reps @ 60kg
– rest 1 minute 15 seconds
IDCP – 20 reps @ 22kg
SR – 20 reps @ 75kg
– rest 1 minute 30 seconds
IDCP – 10 reps @ 26kg
SR – 10 reps @ 90kg
– rest 1 minute 45 seconds

We now go back up the pyramid – but now we change the positions/exercises

DTP Flat Bench Dumbbell Chest press (FBDCP) superset with DTP Lat Pull-downs (LPD)

FBDCP – 10 reps @ 26kg
LPD – 10 reps @ 80kg
– rest 1 minute 45 seconds
FBDCP – 20 reps @ 22kg
LPD – 20 reps @ 65kg
– rest 1 minute 30 seconds
FBDCP – 30 reps @ 18kg – SUPERSET with 20 reps @ 10kg dumbbell flat bench flies
LPD – 30 reps @ 55kg
– rest 1 minute 15 seconds
FBDCP – 30 reps (repeat 30 reps) @ 18kg – SUPERSET with 20 reps @ 10kg dumbbell flat bench flies
LPD – 40 reps @ 45kg
– rest 1 minute
FBDCP – 40 reps @ 14kg – SUPERSET with 20 reps @ 10kg dumbbell flat bench flies
LPD – 50 reps @ 45kg

FINISH! Thats 650 reps!

Here is a photo of how i ensure that i work through the sets correctly! Plan for success in every way. There is nothing worse than hitting a set and someone else has got the weights. Be selfish with it!

So thats days 2 workout. What else have i done today to prep for shoot?

Tanning

When you take a photo with a professional camera, your skin and definition will ALWAYS come out better if your skin is darker. It allows for the shadows to show up better. Dont get me wrong, it doesn’t ‘create’ muscles that aren’t there…! It simply shows the reader how cut they are 😉

As i have sensitive skin, eczema, i didn’t want to risk getting a spray tan so close to the shoot. So i have decided to hit the sun bed every other day leading up to it… this should allow me to darken up nicely. You should never hit the sun bed every day! You need to give your skin time to heal and always ensure that you moisturise well before hand.

This is my product of choice and it seems to keep me silky smooth and reduces any redness. Christ… i sound like a woman don’t I! lol

 

Thats pretty much it for day 2! Water consumption is the same, and diet is unchanged. That is business as usual. I will start to tweak the water and food 6 days out from the shoot.
