Day 10 – Last day of cardio and weights sessions drop to 80% effort
3 Days to go!!!!! Today is also the last day of cardio – WAHOO!
I honestly dont mind cardio that much – its a nice break/rest from killing yourself with weights, but it can get quite boring, especially the low intensity sessions. Talking of which, here is what i did this morning…
Morning Cardio session
LOW INTENSITY TREADMILL – FAST WALKING
40mins @125-130bpm heart rate
See – boring huh!
Anyway, thats put to bed now until next week. Why? Well its quite simple really, now is the time to get the muscles as FULL as possible. There is very little fat/loss we can do in 3 days. Cardio exhausts the muscles and makes them look flat – which is NOT what we want for a photoshoot. I want them to look as big as possible – the lack of cardio, plus the diet tweaks over the next 48hours will enable them to get noce and full.
Evening Weights session
DTP Chest superset with back
Tonights weights session had to be limited down to 80% effort! Why? Pushing the muscle to failure, I.E. tearing muscles, causes them to look flat for a few days after why they repair. I clearly dont want my muscles to look flat, and therefore want to keep the tearing to a minimum for the next few days.
Tonights session was similar to last weeks DTP Chest/back session, so i wont detail here, but i upped the weight and started the pyramid a little lower in reps. Slight increase in sets though, but less reps, so instead of 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 – it was 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 10, 10, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30
Much better pump, muscles still had to work hard, but NOT past failure.
Well today im up to 7 litres of water, more Vitamin C and Dandelion. Water intake is now a real chore! Toilet visits are every 20-30 mins, and also becoming a lot more ‘regular’ for numbers 2s – sorry to be crude. Just telling you how it is!
So below is my morning and evening comparison photo update. As you can see, actually more defined in the evening now – the water manipulation seems to be taking a much greater effect during the day.
Thats it for day 10 – more to come tomorrow….
